Sure Metamorphose, I want to look huge and pregnant.

I was making my morning rounds of Lolita and kitty blogs and stumbled upon The Itty Bitty (not to be confused The Itty Bitty Kitty Committee).  I highly suggest you check it out.  It is super cute and will be part of my daily read.  I am always looking for new blogs to read and I love to add to the list.  The latest post on The Itty Bitty highlighted the latest from Meta and boy was I upset with Meta.  This is what I saw.

That adorable 100 pound girl looks as if she is pregnant or is hiding a watermelon under her layers.  I like a dress that has an empire waist.  Alice and The Pirates has a couple dresses that I just adore with that certain design element. They know how to use it properly though.  This dress though, just, looks so unflattering.  I find with an empire waist the dress must have a bottom that has a little less poof to it.  Don't get me wrong.  I am not Meta hater.  Actually, I love Meta and it is one of my favorite brands. and for the most parts I really like their stuff.
Even with a super thin or fit girl, an unflattering dress will make them look fat.  Just drop the waist and it is a great dress.  I made a little change and this is what I got.  The silhouette is much more flattering.

Please keep in mind that this is just my opinion and my feelings.  I am sure there are girls who love it as is and think that it is flattering.  To each his own.  I just have strong feelings toward this dress and wanted to share my thoughts.

Oh Bodyline, How I Love Thee....And How You Save Me Money!

Whenever I want to buy new cute things to wear I hop on over to Bodyline to pretend shop.  I have next to no money (due to the debt in the above banner) and cannot afford to buy new clothes whenever I want.  To make me feel a little better I go and pretend that I am shopping.  I look at the new items, add the stuff I want to my cart, and that is it.  I don't check out.  I don't pay.  I don't worry about shipping.  This allows me to daydream and get the urge to shop for new JSK's and skirts.  I don't spend a cent and feel better.  Here is what was in my pretend shopping cart today.
So, when ever you are in a spending mood and want new dresses and boots but don't have the money try pretend shopping.  You actually feel really good about yourself and proud after that you didn't give into temptation and spend money that you didn't have or couldn't afford to spend.

I am pretty sure everyone likes fairies.

I am pretty darn sure everyone likes fairies.  They are pretty, fly around, tend to sparkle or shine, and are always happy.  (Except for Tinker Bell, but she was kind of a bitch)
Since we loves fairies I am going to do a little something with my Spring Time Fairies Collection in my Etsy shop.  If anyone buys a piece from the fairy collection I will send along a couple of cute rings with your order.  Just mention this in the this when you make your purchase.  What could be better, cute fairies and free rings!  Yea!

Daily Lolita Highlight - Chokelate

To start off the week I thought I would highlight a certain type of Lolita that I find fascinating and daring.  Guro!  The lolita_handbook defines Guro as.......
Gurololita

This style also goes by "grotesque lolita" or "injured lolita". Any style of loli clothing will work for this because it's all about what you add to it (though it is more often seen on punk or goth lolis). Eyepatches, blood stains, fake bruises, bandages, and even slings give you that "broken dolly" look. This style can either look scary and gruesome or cute and all please-fix-me.

Most posts on Daily Lolita are of what the girls/guys wore for the day.  Cute skirts and cutsews, adorable jackets, and shots of cute poses in bedrooms and malls.  It is a pleasant surprise whenever someone shows us something different.  Chokelate showed something different with her Guro photo shoot and I love it!
Okay.  It might sound a bit strange but the vibe I get from this photo shoot is that she was a porcelain doll who came to life, got the stigmata, and came back to life as a zombie.  Stigmata Zombie Doll.  I mean this in the best way possible.  I freaking love it!  She is so broken looking.

This was her first attempt at Guro and I think she did a splendid job.  Her outfit is completely made up of off brand pieces.  My favorite piece is the under bust corset.  I love corsets with practically anything.  When I was earning my BS in Fashion Design my Special Topics class was all corsets.  Our teacher specialized in costume (theater) and loved corsets and wanted to teach us how to make a proper corset.  We made 2 in that class, 1 general use and one period.  The period corset is way to extreme for me but the general use one is amazing.  I made it about 2 years ago and it gets used multiple times a week.  I wear it under my clothes, over shirts/blouses, and however else I can.  The one that Chokelate wears is perfect for this cord.   All of the white lacing up the front has such a medical feel to it.

The makeup that she chose was perfect.  Every time I see a shoot done and the girl has perfect make up I am super jealous.  A heavy lined eye and red and burned color shadow make her look so dark and sinister.  I think I am going to have to play around with make up and experiment.   Another thing I have to mention is the poses.  Her poses are perfect for this shoot.  She looks so delicate with her long limbs and so creepy with her stares.  Kudos on the poses Chokelate.  That is something else I have to work on.  I get all giggly whenever I have to pose anything more than just your standard smile at the camera.

I loved this shoot by Chokelate and look forward to seeing more from her if the future.

I Love Yellow!

I love Lolita and I love bright and happy colors.  There are lots of the obvious bright and happy color, pink.  Plenty of the second, light blue.  There is just not enough yellow in my opinion.  Yellow is a color that must makes me smile and feel happy.  I think it is an under-rated color in Lolita as well.  Yellow is an easy cord color.  It goes with pink, blue, green, white, lavender, or even black if you want to use a little bumble bee as your inspiration.
It is also a color that has a wide range.  Sunshine yellow for when you are feeling especially cherry and cream  for the more subdued days. I call for more yellow from the brands.  So, come along Angelic Pretty, Baby, and Meta.  Release your Jsk's, Op's, skirts, and cutsews that remind of us sunshine and daisies.

Daily Lolita Highlight - Lisalemaire

It has been quite a while since I have done a Daily Lolita Highlight so I thought it was about time I got one out there.  This specific girl was the first one that I asked to be highlighted on my blog and now is her time to shine.

I only have 2 words that sum her up and sum up this little shoot  Lisalemaire did, Super-Cute
I, like most other Sweet Lolita's, love mint and pink coordinate.  Her Dreamy Doll House JSK  and pink cutsew by Angelic Pretty make her look just like a pretty porcelain doll.  I love her hair too.  Long soft chocolate and fawn colored curls tumble down her shoulders and her soft swept bangs reveal a cool woven head band.  I really like the headband.  It is unconventional in Lolita and out and I love it.  A big bow and little delicate hearts a place just so in her hair and look as if they are floating.
Just when you think she could not get any cuter she does by having a friend in matching colors who is cute too.  They both have dimples in the picture.  And, the cherry on top is the pink boots.  I love love love boots and pink is my favorite color.  Pink boots are the best!  They are from Bodyline too, so I might have to pick up a pair.

So just like I said in the beginning, Super-Cute!
