Cute Etsy Finds

I am constantly scouring the depths of Etsy to find cute items and see what is going on.  In my travels tonight I stumbled upon some of the cutest hair corsages/round headdresses that I have seen in some time.;p[[[[[[[[[[[[[[00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000  Excuse that bit of rubbish.  One of my cute kitties wanted to add something to the blog and just walked on the keyboard to add her 2 cents.
Anyway, these cute pieces are irresistible.  They are made by Alice Arisu Hearts.  Take a peek at her shop!

Yummy yummy Strawberries

One of my favorite themes with jewelry and accessories is strawberries.  They are so cute and fresh looking.  It takes almost all of my willpower not to keep the strawberry charms when I buy them because I realize a lot of other people like strawberries too.
Perhaps I should make an entire outfit themed to strawberries.  I could buy a cute strawberry print fabric to make a JSK or Op.  Make oodles of strawberry jewelry and accessories.
Here are some of the strawberry items in my shop that are for sale.  And as always I am doing the free ring with any purchase.

Necklaces that are Too Cool For School

I have been making what I think are really cool necklaces.  Perhaps, too cool for school.  I am really digging big bows right now.  I am also digging clusters of little charms that dangle all cutely together.  I put up a few in my Etsy shop.  I love them so much I will be a tad sad to see them go when they get sold.
As a little bonus to my loyal blog readers I want to add a little something to any purchase that you girly girls make.  If you buy anything from my shop, from a ring to a cake hat, I will slip a cute ring along with your order.

Moments Like Diamonds Giveaway

On my daily Lolita and Kitty blog rundown I came across one of my faves doing a giveaway.  Moments Like Diamonds!  She is doing a Bad Blogger Giveaway and all you have to do to enter is hop over to her blog and give the post a read.  She got the inspiration to do a Bad Blogger Giveaway from this great hoodie she found in Japan.  ( The giveaway is NOT for the hoodie)

We can't be good all of the time, I spent some money.

I did a bad and fiscally irresponsible thing.  I bought a bunch of items from Bodyline.  I was buzzing around on the site and I found too many cute things that were good prices.
The package came in the mail through DHL at the end of last week and boy was I excited when I got home.  Here is just a little peeky-poo of the goodies.  I will be doing a review I guess of the stuff and posting sme in depth pictures.

All official like with cute business cards

For the last 2 weeks I have been designing business cards.  I made about 6 different designs and I finally came up with a finished product that I am very happy with.
I have been putting off getting business cards for no good reason.  I knew I needed them long ago but I just didn't feel like designing them I guess.  As much as I like Fashion Design, my blog, my Etsy shop, and owning my own business there are certain aspects that I don't love and tend to put on the back burner.  My business cards were one of them.  But, I am happy to say with hours of work and determination I came over my laziness and make a pretty cute business card.
I will be using these cute cards to hand out to people who like my things, give them to shop owners who I have as selling prospects, send them along with orders, and always have them with me when I talk jewelry/accessories.
 FRONT
 BACK
I am very proud.  It is cute, delicate, to the point, easy to understand, and if I need to jot down more info on the card for someone (a date, phone number, an amount of product , and/or pricing)  there is enough room on the back to do so.  I made the order for 1000 of these babies and I think I shoud get them in the mail next week some time.  Once they come in the mail I will have to show you the actual cards.  There are square (I thought I would do something a little different from the standard business card shape) and 2x2 inches.
I can' take all of the credit though.  My husband helped me by brainstorming with me, giving his opinion, and made sure that I didn't make any stupid spelling errors.
So, what do you think?  Good? Bad?

2 words.....Dancing Cats.

This video is quite possibly one of the cutest things that I have ever seen.  Precious- by MEG.  It is a cute and catchy song with a great video.  The kitties are the best part but I also really love her "magic" that she does.  It is a great video to end the week and start off the weekend.  Kitties.  Cute song.  Fun dancing.  What more could you want?

Sweet Treats and Delicious Desserts

I am getting back to my jewelry making roots and using the cute cookie and biscuits charms that I started making jewelry with. I had forgotten how cute and delicate they look. There is something about jewelry and accessories that are little treats, cookies, and other yummies. I am in the process of listing them on Etsy right now.
I haven't really been into earrings for a while but I have to admit, I really like these cookie earrings. They are the perfect length. They have the cutest bit of dangle.
One thing I do love and always have is rings.  Slapping on a couple of cute rings is one of the easiest ways to "cute up" on outfit.  I work at the front desk of my local YMCA and we are required to wear a red YMCA polo shirt.  This does not allow for a whole lot of creativity wardrobe wise.  I remedy this by doing a cute hair style and adding 1 or 2 adorable rings to my fingers.  I am always filing out paper work, handing out info, pointing things out/giving directions, and flashing my hands around.  Rings make my hands and me feel pretty.  The cookie rings are almost too much cute for me.  And as always I add a fun necklace and /or bracelet to the mix.   The cake necklace is yummy looking and the heart charm bracelet is so much fun.

Macarons!!!

Once of my latest obsessions has been macarons and baking them.  I scoured the internet for recipes, pictures, and info.  One  day when I wasn't even looking for anything macaron related I stumbled upon what I think is a gem.  A beautiful and delicious gem.  Follow me on this journey, won't you?
When I lived in Philly I did an internship at a shop called Omoi which specialized in Japanese import items and Japanese inspired goodies.  I used to love shopping at the little store that was filled with Cutie Magazines, blind box toys, Fruits books, tabi socks, and oodles of other irresistible kawaii fare.   Now that I am living back in Up State New York I regularly check out the Omoi blog  to see the latest items they get in stock and whatnot.  In my latest visit I discovered i ♥ macarons, By Hisako Ogita.
I just about jumped out of my seat when I saw a cook book dedicated solely to macarons!  So, to Amazon I went and scooped that baby up.  You too can get this piece of awesome.  I just ordered it a day ago so it will probably make its way to me next week.  Once I have it in my hands I will give you girly girls a peek.
Speaking of giving things a peek, check out the Omoi blog and shop.  You will not be disappointed.

I Love Bags and Bodyline. Cecilia Carousel and Dennis Teapot Prints.

I saw a post on egl about new items on the Bodyline website.  Bodyline came out with a few new prints that are so fun.  Cecilia Carousel and Dennis Teapot.  Here is a quick run down of these darling pieces.

Look at Bodyline bringing out the big guns.  I think they are really kicking it up with the prints.  They have WIN written all over them.  I am trying to pink my favorite piece or print and I just can't do it.  The Cecelia Carousel JSK is just too cute with its simple design and awesome print.  And the Dennis Teapot skirt, with its high-waisted (which I am really digging right now) is great.
Among super cute dresses and skirts there was the most darling bag.  A cute sugary print of carousel horses and pretty colors make me want  one of each color.
I also want these ones as well.

As cheap as these bag are ($19 each) I still cannot afford them so I guess it is just a little more pretend shopping.  Perhaps for the next holiday, Christmas, I will ask for a shopping spree on Bodyline.

Pretty Fabric Finds

Last weekend the Jo-Ann's Fabric because I had a coupon and they had their spring silk flowers on sale.  I picked out my favorite flowers and filled my basket.  (I was dressed in Lolita and was carrying around a basket full of flowers.  I felt like walking through a field.)  I made my regular jewelry and ribbon purchases and before I went to the check out I thought I would swing by the clearance fabric.
Boy was I happy!!  All of the clearance fabric was an additional 50% off.  I got about 18 yards for $1.00 to $2.00.  I have been fantasizing about working at a library and being able to wear Classic Lolita dresses and outfits.  All of the different fabric I bought went along with a specific idea and design.  I also pictured wearing it in the library among the books.
The three above will be turned into skirts most likely.   They are just  good old cotton fabrics.   I only bought 3 yards of each so I will have to be creative if I want to do lots of ruffles.  Most of the fabric I bought I got whatever was left so I could not buy more.
I bought about 6 yards of this pink floral print.  It is so antique and delicate looking I could not help but buy lots of it.  I have big plans for this fabric!  I am making a One Piece Dress with a round neckline.  If I have any left over I am making a cute eco-sack.  Perhaps even a large head bow.
These two fabrics are going to be accent fabrics.  The red and white polka-dot chiffon will make gorgeous flowy ruffles.  I bought quite a bit of it so I think I can use it to make 2 pieces, a skirt and a jsk.  The light pink fabric is a pretty sheer cotton so I think it be a cutsew and maybe a bolero if I feel like making super cute sleeves.  The last things I bought were a few pearl trims and I love love love them.  I have oodles of ideas for them.
I know the trim on the right is meant to have the sheer part hidden but I want to utilize it and show all of it.  I have an idea for a slightly pirate themed jsk and using the trim on the right as the straps and on the bodice.
I have to tidy up my sewing room and then will start sewing this upcoming week.  Perhaps in the future I will do a post on my sewing room.  I am lucky enough that we have an apartment with two bedrooms.
