Lolita Rules That I follow #1- Knee Length Skirt

One of the things I love most about Lolita is the breaking out of the mold and dressing how I want and feel no matter what anyone thinks or says.  I also love that it is a genre that has rules that people bend and play with to make some very interesting coordinates.  It is fun to see what girls and guys are doing within a set of parameters and seeing what they come up with.
As much as I love the freedom of the style and the fun of coming up with new ideas within the style there are rules that I feel I should follow.  These aren't rules that maybe others may feel they need to follow (who am I to tell then that they do) but, they are the rules for me.
The first rule, Keep the Hem at the Knee or Just Above.
A big part of my day is being on the internet and keeping up with my interests.  I am on EGL, the sales page, amazon, about 80 blogs, and other random pages.  I am also on Daily Lolita checking out the pictures and seeing what people are doing and one of the things that really gets me is all of the short skirts and dresses.
I realize that sometimes people want their hen to be short if that are wearing Euro or Punk Loli.  But, in Classic, Sweet, Gothic, Country, and most other sub Loli genres  should adhere to a modest length.  Alot of the time you see a post on DL (Daily Lolita) and a girl will say, "Sorry my skirt is so short, I have really long legs."  I just think to myself , "Well then, fix it.".  If something is not right with your outfit or an article of clothing do something about it.  You could make sure that you are buying the right size and avoid the problem all together, take it to a tailor or friend who knows how to sew to add a ruffle, lace, or a bit of fabric to the hem, wear an underskirt that is a little longer to make up for the length of the over skirt, or sell it for a longer one.
I am not super modest but Lolita as a whole is a modest style.  Out of Lolita my skirts are shorter and my tops are a bit tighter but in Lolita, I follow the belief that is is a pretty modest style.
If you agree with me let me know and if you don't, let me know.  I would like to think that I am in good company with this thought but who knows, maybe I am being a bit old fashioned.
What are your thoughts?

Daily Lolita Highlight- TableSheet

More often than not when I do a Daily Lolita highlight the pictures are from meet-ups, personal photos from their homes, and outside.  Rarely are the pictures from projects and from a more serious source.  The concept for this shoot is " the kitchen where nobody eats" and buy is that right.  I really want to eat the cupcakes and I want TableSheet to eat the cupcakes as well.
I really appriciate and love the simplicity of her outfit.  The lovely combination of crimson, black, and white look so simple yet so elegant.  You don't always have to be dripping in pearls, bows, miles of lace and ruffles, and curly hair to be a lovely Lolita.  TableSheet is a perfect example of this.  A simple hair bow is all the accessory she needs.  (She made it herself)
Another thing she proves is that you don't have to spend oodles of money to look beautiful.  (I am a big believer in this)  The most expensive item is her OP which is from F+F so it did not break the bank for her.  I really love her shoes which I am so close to buying from Bodyline.
Outfit Rundown:
OP - Fan + Friend
Shoes - Bodyline
Headbow - Handmade
Stockings - Random shop
One of the small details which I really like are the pockets on the OP.  Pockets look cute on some Lolita dresses and OP's and they are adorable on this one.  They add a little something extra.  Small, unnecessary details are fun and especially makes my fun in Lolita.
Hop on over to TableSheets egl post to see more pictures and read the lovely comments.  It makes me smile when I see a nice Daily Lolita post and all of the great comments.

A Sad Lappy Day

My AMAZING husband got me a gorgous new laptop a couple of weeks ago and I was lving it.  It was so big, shiney, powerful, and just plain great.  Notice how I am talking in the past tense.  On Friday afternoon I was doing my regular thing.  I checked my regular sites and blogs, placed an order on amazon, played on Facebook, and then I tried to see EGL.  No go.  The computer crapped itself and would not start up again.  My husband tried everything he could think of and nothing worked.  Turns out the hard drive was broken/dying.
I sent my sad lappy off today and will be getting my new one soon.  In the mean time I am using my husbands little Eee PC.  So, no nice photos or anything really in depth until I get photo-shop back.  But, soon I will have my new new lappy and all will be right in the world again.

Cliss Wigs for Sale and New Fun Hair

About a month ago I wanted to spice up my Lolita wardrobe with some new wigs.  I did some research on-line and I found the wigs I wanted and made the plunge.  I ordered 3 wigs that were all different and fun.  I love the one (which you are not going to see in this post) and the other two are super cute but I think I just look silly in them.  So, I am selling them.
I wanted to give you lovely ladies the chance to buy them before I put them up on egl sales.  I want tem to go to good homes where they will get used and not sit in a drawer like they would with me.  They have only been tried on for about 3 minutes.  So, they are brand new.

 Short Bob Wig
I played around with the wig and I liked it best a little fluffed but it naturally comes smooth and silky like the the stock picture.
$24.00 shipped anywhere.

Long Bronze Wig
I love the shape and body of this wig but the color just is not me.
$28.00 shipped anywhere.

So, if you are interested just leave me and comment and we can work it out.
I have been trying to do funky new hairstyles for my spicy new hair.  Today, I went with a cute pink bow and a nice up-due.  When I am at work I like to have my hair up just because it is so long and gets in the way.

I am Back! New and Improved!

I am back.  I am getting out of my slump and getting back on track.  I don't want to go too far into my "I feel so bad for me's" so I will just say that I have not been super excited about the way things have been going and I am finally doing something about it.  I am making some changes.
  My first change, my hair.
Don't be scared by my super pale skin.  This is pretty accurate coloring for me.  I am practically shut in material.  I love my hair though.  My husband kept telling me he missed me dyeing my hair.  I missed it too but all of that bleaching was killing my hair and scalp.  So, I went with half bangs and a bit of the front.  Just enough but not too much.  I want to take more pictures that highlight my hair.
Well ladies.  You can expect daily posts again so keep checkin' in.

What is going on Bodyline?

Ok.  I like to check out Bodyline's site a few times a week to see what they have.  I have noticed that one day something will have a price and the very next day the price will be raised considerably.  I was thinking about picking up a couple of their Rocking Horse shoes.  They were priced at $31 and $37.  Not bad at all.  Today they are both $50 each.  WhAT!1!1!1!  Why?  What happened between yesterday and today?  I don't get it.

They are really cute shoes but if I am going to pay $50 for each I would rather get better ones from the egl sales com.  Why Bodyline, why?

Help me get Motivated

For the past week and a half or so I have been very unmotivated.  I don't want to anything.  I am having a hard time getting out of this slump.  I know I just need to buckle down and do what I need to do but I want to want to do it.
How do you motivate yourself?  Pep talks?  Rewards?  What do you do?  Help a desperate Lolita.
